I first thought about making a FAQ (Frequently asked Questions) page, but suddenly realised, that no one ever asks me any questions about the blog. So I decided to make it a mixed about me / about the blog / hypothetically asked questions thing.

First of all, my name is Benjamin Emmanuel and I am from the capital of Germany, Berlin. Okay, actually I’m from Freiburg, a quite small town in the very south west of Germany next to Switzerland and France. I just moved to Berlin in late Summer 2009 and it has been very exciting living in a huge city ever since. I’m living with my girlfriend and another friend and those are by far my favourite people to cook for.

Okay, enough said. Let’s start with the hypothetically asked questions…

When and how did you start cooking?
I started cooking for myself when I was about 13, but I never really started doing anything but pasta with very boring tomato sauces until I was 18. When I was younger I was just way too fussy about food. I mean, I didn’t even like beets, yogurt, cream sauces, mushrooms, just to name a few… It was absolutely awful and I think I made my mothers life a living hell on some days (at least about food). But – fortunately – things changed and by trying out more things I got more and more obsessed with food and cooking.

Why Let’s Start Simple!?
I started thinking about having my own food blog after just reading various food blogs (check out my blogroll for some of them!) for ages. I wanted to start sharing my own ideas, photographs, recipes, thoughts, etc. with the fantastic food blogosphere. It’s a great way to get to talk to people, who are as passionate with food and cooking as I am. It’s not that easy to make friends understand your own passion about those things, trust me!

Anyway, I am very happy that you found your way to my blog and even read through this more or less boring text about me.
