Okay, so I saw bacon caramels on not without salt this morning and even though I thought about I just knew I had to give it a try. This delicious combination of sweet and savoury is just one of the best things… ever.

Ingredients:
6 strips of bacon
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of corn sirup (or even better: maple sirup)
1/2 cup of cream
one stick of butter
Fry bacon until crisp. Crumble and set aside. Mix sugar and sirup in a small saucepan over medium-high heat and while stirring let them caramelize until almost smoking. Meanwhile, heat cream and butter in another saucepan. Carefully add butter and cream to the caramel and stir until well combined. Heat the mixture stirring continiously for another 2 minutes, remove it from heat and add almost all of the bacon crumbles. Pour it into a buttered baking dish and sprinkle with remaining bacon crumbles. Let cool down for some hours and cut into pieces of your desired size.
